Day 2 – Orientation

January 10, 2019- Today, we had our orientation program. We met with the different personnel of the Faculty of Education. We happened to meet with our mentors too.

Sweet smile from us! We’re really happy to meet the faculty of Education in Satit Demonstration School!

They gave us token of appreciation. These are notebook, cap, and bag printed. I love it all!

After the orientation, we take a photo outside the building together with the personnel and the mentors.

After the program Miss Jesi, my mentor, accompanied us to explore the building. She introduced us to some of the teachers in English Program. Gladly, they are Filipinos too! She showed us the classrooms of every grade level.

Thai students are really good in art!

While walking, the children are greeting us. They sit properly if they happen to see us outside of their classrooms. They are so cute!

During lunch time, they fall in line properly and walk in line going to cafeteria. They won’t start eating their food if they are not yet completed then after that they pray together.

On the other hand, we had our lunch together with the Filipino teachers at the school canteen. Again, I did not finished my food. I can’t still adjust in Thai food but I hope I can someday.

After lunch we waited for Miss Nadia for we are going to the Immigration office. We just explored the University and then went back to our dormitory to take some nap. It was a tiring day after all.

After the fast and breath taking ride, we arrived safely at Nakhon Si Thammarat Immigration. I think it only take us 15 minutes to arrive here. Miss Nadia is really a good driver.

While on our way going back to the University, nice dresses caught our attention. Miss Nadia dropped us in a store and we buy clothes in a cheap price. It is really nice. I would love to come back here again.

After having some shopping, we dropped by in the Golden Buddha within the Campus of NSTRU. I’m proud to say that I’ve been here. No words can express how happy I am in this day. I think the smile in my face says it all tho.

Expect for more photos and experiences to tell! Hehe.

Day 1 – The Arrival

January 9, 2019 – This is my first day in Thailand. It is my first time going out of the country and I was so amazed since the moment I step in Bangkok. Being here in Thailand is more than a dream come true and the experiences that awaits for me will be all going to be worthy.

It was almost 12 noon when we arrived at Bangkok and we still have our last flight going to Nakhon Si Thammarat. We decided to eat something since it’s too early for our next flight so I ordered Thai food. The food looks delicious and the moment I tasted it I was like, “It is so spicy!” and I end up not eating the food. I enjoyed the fries, anyway.

We’re now in NSTRU! I’m so happy meeting Miss Nadia our coordinator and our buddy, Pop. Miss Nadia picked us up in the airport and dropped us at our dormitory wherein we’re about to stay here for a month. I love the place, I feel comfortable with the ambiance.

After we settled our things in our room, we go out for a tour in their night market. Pop, our buddy, accompanied us while exploring the entire market. We are also with Dillah, an Indonesian exchange student. We’re surprised that the foods were cheap so we bought something for our dinner.

We went home after the tour and gladly, we met some new friends and they are also our buddies. They are Nen, Sandy, Chop, and On. They are NSTRU students taking English program. We talked a lot and we added each others in Line and on Facebook.

Even though it’s tiring, this day is really full of fun. I’m looking forward for the next days here in Thailand.

Who is Teacher Carla?

Hello everyone! I am Carla Jean Balbino Delfin. Resident of Maayon, Capiz, Philippines. I’m now in my last year in college taking Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics that hopefully will going to graduate in this upcoming April.

Teaching is maybe my calling. When I was in secondary school, I really dream to become an Engineer someday. Due to opportunity given to me, I pursue teaching. At first it is hard for me to accept it, but after all the sacrifices I’ve done, now I can confidently say that I want to become a teacher.

I am one of the participants for SEA Teacher Project coming from Capiz State University, Philippines. I decided to join the SEA Teacher Project because I believe that as a teacher, it is necessary to have a lot of experiences in teaching-learning process. With here, I can be able to have a lot of experiences especially in handling class with diverse backgrounds. I can also be able to enhance my communication skills more importantly I can develop myself as a teacher.

Welcome to my blog and I hope you will enjoy reading it. Ciao!
